Chumlee

Have you ever wondered what the net worth of Chumlee is? Well, the American businessman and TV personality has made a name for himself and is worth a fortune.

As of May 2023, Chumlee has a net worth of $5 million.

He is best known for being one of the hit reality TV show Pawn Stars stars. This post will illustrate how he achieved such great success.

Early Life

Chumlee, formerly known as Austin Russell, was born in Henderson, Nevada, on September 8, 1982. When he was 12 years old, his father compared him to the walrus “Chumley” from the cartoon “Tennessee Tuxedo” because of his broad face and prominent chin.

As a result, he was given the nickname “Chumlee.” It’s not surprising that the moniker stuck.

Chumlee has a younger sage brother, and growing up, they spent a lot of time with Corey Harrison, who became one of his closest boyhood friends.

Corey’s father and Grandfather, Rick and Richard Harrison started the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in 1989, right off the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chumlee was hired by Gold and Silver as a 21-year-old in 2010. The pawnshop rose to prominence after appearing on Comedy Central’s “Insomniac with Dave Attell.”

Rick thought the store would make an excellent show and titled it ‘Pawn Stars”.

He offered it to dozens of production companies and networks before selling the full-length series to The History Channel. Chumlee worked at the shop for five years, and when the showed premiered in July 2009, his career as a TV personality began.

The show recounts the happenings inside the 24-hour Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. Chumlee quickly became known for his funny gaffes behind the pawnshop counter and became a fan favorite.

Additionally, he rose to popularity after successfully haggling for a $100,000 automobile from a local Maserati store for only $85,000.

Chumlee’s following grew substantially, so he began his own business. He sold bizarre products he invented at the shop, and his item sold quickly and was a large part of the store’s profits.

“Pawn Stars” is still beloved to this day and continues its endless run. It has just released its 20th season on April 23rd, 2022.

Business Ventures

With the show’s success and his products flying off the shelf, Chumlee had the extra wealth to further diversify his assets. He started an impressive sneaker collection that he eventually sold on eBay and expanded his novelty brand nationwide.

He then purchased property at the Harrisons’ Pawn Plaza and created Chumlee’s Candy Shop. The shop is a medium-sized store that can serve a dozen clients at a time.

The store has a wide collection of sweet treats and is best known for its Australian strawberry licorice.

Similar to Fat Joe, Chumlee went through an inspiring body transformation. In January 2019, Chumlee had reached over 350 pounds. He wasn’t comfortable with his body and decided to make a change.

So, after weighing out all of his options, he decided to undergo laparoscopic weight-loss surgery at Blossom Bariatrics in Las Vegas.

According to UCLA Health, gastric sleeve surgery usually removes 75 to 80 percent of the stomach. The treatment diminishes hunger sensations, leading to a lowered appetite, and is currently the most popular bariatric procedure performed in the United States and worldwide.

The procedure successfully motivated him to live a healthy lifestyle. Since the surgery, he has been eating clean, exercising, and surrounding himself with a strong support network.

Since his transformation, Chumlee has also spoken about his new outlook on life on Instagram, where he has posted photos of his new figure and encouraging messages to his followers.

Personal Life

His relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Tanya Hijazi, a professional cook, ended in 2016 after two years of dating. For a few months, Chumlee remained single, but then he met Olivia Rademann and never looked back.

Raderman is a student at USCB, and they began dating in 2016. Chumlee was dealing with legal issues at the time, and this certainly was not one of his best years.

However, Olivia stuck by him to the bitter end, and the couple got engaged in August 2018 and held a pre-wedding party in May 2019 at D Hotels in Detroit. In August 2019, they had a private wedding ceremony in Hawaii.
